Forget about awkwardly posing in front of the camera

It's not just pictures. Shared experiences.

"When we travel to new places, we are often pushed outside of our comfort zones and forced to navigate unfamiliar territory. This shared experience can bring people together and create lasting memories." (Jomar, "Memories That Bind")
I’ve observed this in my photography sessions. Families brought to a unique, unfamiliar location experience increased camaraderie and bonding. When they are shown their photos in a couple of weeks, there’s joy at the memory of our adventure photo session.

Our Process

01.

Book a Session

Use the INQUIRE form to start the process (link at the top of every page). I will contact you, answer any questions, and help you book a date on my calendar. We will also schedule a pre-shoot consultation.

At the time of booking, I require a $100 deposit to hold that date on my calendar. I will also send you a contract to sign.

02.

Pre-Shoot Consultation

We'll start with an initial consultation to understand your vision, and answer any questions. During this initial visit, I'll ask questions about your family, their interests, and we'll discuss locations. I want to know your ideas for your dream session! If you have questions about outfit colors, please ask! I will be sending you my style guide to help you along.

03.

Day of the Photo Session

On the day of the photo session, I'll guide you to various spots at the location and prompt natural interactions to capture genuine emotions and moments. I'll incorporate some natural posing that compliments you. Our goal is to make you feel comfortable, look great, and get amazing photos!

04.

Gallery Delivery 3 Weeks Post Shoot!

Two to three weeks after our photo session, I will send an email that your photos are fully-edited and ready to view and download!

Each of my packages offers a complimentary in-home design session. If you choose to use this, I'll set up a time to visit. We'll use a fun software specialized for selecting your favorites and showing them in different arrangements on a wall. You can order wall art directly from your gallery or at our design session.

FAQs

How many pictures will we receive?

Depending on the coverage you choose, you will receive 20 to 35+ high-resolution images and their web versions. Prints, wall art, and albums can be ordered during the in-home design session or directly from your online gallery.

How should we dress for our family session?

Dress to suit you and your family's personality! Want more direction? I can help with that. Use the Inquire button at the top of the page to ask for my Style Guide. Here are the basics: Neutral and jewel tones are good. Matching is 'out'; complementing each other is 'in'. Clothes should fit well, not too big, for a polished look. Shoes: darker or natural colors are better than too light of a shoe. A quick go-to is Pinterest; a search for "family photo outfits" will give you ideas for outfits with several colors that work well together. I am always happy to discuss clothing with you as well.

I have a child who is very shy. I'm not sure family photos will work for us.

Thank you for letting me know! For children who are very shy or have difficulty making eye contact, we can get amazing photos of the family engaging in activities together. I'm very patient and accommodating. One of my all-time favorite photos was of a family whose three-year-old was resistant to look at the camera. I switched to a long lens and gently 'directed' from a distance as the family played in the snow near a snowman that was already there.

What is your philosophy?

I am truly thankful for my talent, experiences (both good and bad), and personality. I humbly believe that I have a gift, and I consider it a privilege to share that gift with you through my photography.
